Water Heater Damage

Did you know that a Water Heater can hold up to 50 gallons of hot water? When they break they can let out all that water quickly causing a lot of damage quickly. Even if there is a drain near by it can be overwhelmed, not draining fast enough for the water  not to start wicking up drywall or migrating to other parts of the home. Water should be extracted from carpet and pad to shorten the drying time of the home when air movers are placed. It is typical for drying equipment to be in the home for three to five days after a flood from a water heater.
